Craigville Beach is a great beach. Plenty warm enough to swim. Good Restaurants not too far (i.e. Paddock in Hyannis - Mattakeese Wharf in Barnstable harbor). If it rains there's a Mall not to far plus boutiques in Hyannis.

Easy Ferry to Nantucket for day trip (car not needed - a lot is within walking distance). Provincetown not too far to drive to. Route 6a is a nice drive.

Cape Cod National Seashore is beautiful. And of course Four Seas ice cream in Centerville (gotta try the Lemon Crisp ice cream if it's not sold out)

Happy vacation

As much as I enjoy both of those recommendations, I'd have to urge ramirami to skip it for this trip. The weekend he has in mind is the start of "Motorcycle Week" in that area (Laconia specifically) and if you aren't planning on attending those events, you'd be better off heading elsewhere.

However, seacoast New Hampshire (Hampton area on south) is also very nice. If you don't mind heading farther north, I think Acadia National Park, in Bar Harbor Maine, is one of the nation's finest, and beats Cape Cod cold.

I'd recommend that you look into spending some time on Martha's Vineyard. My wife and I started going there for a week in June... and this year will be out 11th year in a row!
June is a wonderful time on the Vineyard - the big crowds don't start until after the 1st of July. And the prices in June are about 40% lower than the prices after July 1st.
If you do decide to go, you'll want to get your ferry tickets and housing reservations in advance.
Check it out - it's a great place for a vacation!!!!

The only thing about Maine, you still have ice water till the 4th of July.

My wife and I went to the Cape and Vineyard a couple years ago, and we found the Cape a little "touristy" and crowded for our tastes, but Martha's Vineyard was great. We stayed down south (I think) at the Outermost Inn B&B. VERY romantic, but not sure about kid friendly.

We've also stayed in Bah Hahbah, and loved that, too. But you're a couple hundred more miles north, and it'll still be pretty chilly.

You might look into Mystic Conn. There's Mystic Seaport, and the village, as well as the submarine base nearby. Not sure of crowds that time of year, though, 'cause we went in March (brrr).
