Default Another Road Test Comparison

If anyone's interested, here's another road test http://www.canadiandriver.com/testdr...pilot-test.htm
www.canadiandriver.com is a pretty cool website. They seem to update the lead story almost daily & have good regular feature stories. Only problem is the prices seem freaky at first glance-being Canadian Currency.

Thanks for the links Davemac!

I noticed that at the end of the article, it shows a 5 yrs/100,000 km powertrain warranty. Is this unique to the Canadian version of the Pilot? I thought it was just 3/36 bumper-to-bumper.

This does seem to be another difference between the US and Canadian offering. In Canada, it does come with 5/100000 limited powertrain warranty.

Doesn't better fuel economy mean performance sacrificed ?

I find that hard to believe that they got this 4500lb vehicle to get 30 mpg!!

Think its a misprint.

Default Canadian Mileage

Perhaps I can clear up the Canadian mileage issue . . .

In Canada, our "gallon" is based on British (Imperial) measure and therefore contains 160 ounces versus 128 ounces in a US gallon. In other words, our gallon is 25% larger and therefore our MPG rating is 25 percent higher. I own a Pilot and I am in fact getting just a shade under 30 MPG in highway driving. Highway mileage with a US gallon should be more like 24 MPG.

In my opinion, the great mileage is due primarily to an efficient engine design combined with the 5-speed automatic transmission which allows the engine to coast at well under 2000 RPM when travelling at respectable highway speeds. No sacrifice in performance . . . the tranny just drops down a gear or two and off you go.

For the record, our gas in Canada is more than 25% higher in cost than that in the US, even after you factor in the different gallon sizes and the exchange rates. The main reason for the difference is higher government taxes on all fuel.

Hopefully the above clarifies the situation.

Default Anyone notice the "power passenger seat" in the canadiandriver.com review ?

If you look closely into the canadinadriver Pilot review, it mention "power passenger seat".

Any thought about this NEW (found) feature ?

Unless they were driving some as-yet unreleased Super EX model, the "power passenger seat" was a mistake. The Pilot does not have a power passenger seat on any canadian model.
