The only good product honda made was the kick-n-go...and they drove that production line into the ground as well!

Off road I'll agree with you 100%. On the road, no way. The Nissan has no head room in the back seat, has less horse power and worst gas mileage. I have a friend with a xterra, he wishes he got the Honda.

The 2005 Xterra is going to have at least 250hp and 270 lb/ft of torque. It should be very quick, especially with the 6 speed.

Gas mileage hopefully will be a little better. It seems that cars/trucks are getting more powerful these days, yet still get as good or better mpg..

Default To the President of the Honda-Haters Club...

I had a Nissan back 10 years ago, and I got 205,000 miles before I sold it, still in good condition. I think they are fine cars and trucks. What I am wondering is why someone would want to hang out in this forum just to insult Hondas and Honda owners? Why not go to a nice comedy club and heckle the comics? At least a couple of people might laugh with you instead of at you.

I taught myself to drive a stick-shift in a '71 Datsun 1200. I had to replace the starter (did it myself for $37 plus my labor in the summer of '77. Thank goodness I has a summer job at an auto parts store and got the part at "cost.")

It's also where I did my first "heavy petting." I think Nissan, think Datsun, and am reminded of that '71 Datsun 1200 and that stick-shift in my hand.

Owned a couple Nissans, also became very well versed in replacing the battery and alternator that kept craping out every 6 months. Also what is with a Supercharged V-6 that puts out 210HP? It was a great idea for a vehicle, but poorly done..

Gosh, lots of Nissan haters...

My wife has a 1990 240sx that is in fanastic condition, no rust, & original alternator. The car has 96k miles, and runs fantastic.

That's why they are putting in a normally aspirated 4.0L V6 with at least 250 hp and 270 lb/ft of torque for 2005.

I like well made cars and trucks, Hondas (see Avatar ), Nissans, or Toyotas.

As far as resale value goes, some of you focus on that too much IMO. Yeah, I hope my CR-V holds its value well enough when we trade for a PILOT. I can tell you though it was not a big factor when we bought it because it was a Honda, and we planned on keeping it for many years. Yeah, Nissan might not be quite as good, but if you like vehicle well enough and are not planning on trading in the next 3 years, then who cares. Caution though, this opinion of mine only applies to the three manufacturers I mentioned before. Buy/trade domestic makes at your own risk.
