Default Has anyone taken their pilot to the dragstrip yet?

I know I know before you say that's crazy. I just wanted to see what kind of #'s it could pull off. I was at the track last night with my G35 and there was an FX45 that was running 15.1s consistently. It was kind of cool to see that huge ass SUV with 20" rims going down the track.

I forgot to mention that I've been to this track twice in the last month and both times there is a lowered older model durango that is pretty damn quick. I can't remember his times now.

I've only run 0-60 with my palm pilot with auterraweb software. Its extremely difficult to find an open 1/4 mile unpopulated stretch of road anymore around here, so i have yet to hit that mark.

FWIW, got 7.5 secs reading without trying too hard.

One of these days I'll get it away from my wife, empty out all the junk she carries, and give it a good run.

And before folks start jumping up saying "Its an SUV, not a racecar, Dammit!!!"
Its all in good fun and purely out of curiosity. Heck, I ski for fun and, most of the time, use cheap skis at a cheap resort. But its still fun.

Wasn't there a post a while back that attached a video of a guy racing a car, and winning with his Pilot? If I remember correctly it was at night and on my monitor all I could see was the reflectors and lights. I'll see if I can find it.

I posted this a while back comparing the Pilot against the RX 300.
The number come from a different website:

Found this at: http://www.car-videos.com/performan...e.asp?dist=1320

I thought that this was interesting.

Year 2003 1999
Make Honda Lexus
Model Pilot RX300
Trim EX
Transmission 5-speed Automatic 4-speed Automatic
Theoretical Top Speed 117 mph 126 mph
Limited Top Speed 109 mph 112 mph

0-30 mph 2.90 s 3.00 s
0-40 mph 4.00 s 4.20 s
0-50 mph 6.10 s 6.60 s
0-60 mph 8.12 s 8.60 s
0-70 mph 10.40 s 11.00 s
0-80 mph 14.40 s 15.30 s
0-90 mph 18.70 s 19.50 s
0-100 mph 24.00 s 24.90 s

100 ft 3.50 s 3.60 s
500 ft 8.90 s 9.20 s
1320 ft (1/4 mile) 16.40 s @ 84.8 mph 16.70 s @ 83.5 mph

Sorry for the way the numbers line up, tried to fix it, but couldn't

Not bad for a 4400lb Suv.
