Default Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition

My son and his wife stopped by last night with their NEW Jeep Liberty. Very attractive vehicle, albeit quite a bit smaller than the Pilot. Theirs is the Columbia Edition which included gunmetal gray bumpers/trim and a nice looking interior scheme.

Not too bad (but still not a HONDA)!!

I drove a Jeep Liberty rental a couple of weeks ago. Nice looking vehicle, inside and out, but I found the seat bottom to be way too short. No thigh support whatsoever, so very quickly I was fidgety in it. That thing would move, though, with the 3.8L engine.

I didn't drive it - but did sit in it. It felt pretty good and I REALLY like the white gages.

BTW, it's a 3.7L

I guess it just ran like it was .1L bigger. It can't be that I suffer from CRS.

Actually, I was surprised to read how heavy they are. Not a lot less than a Pilot. 4,044# vs 4,400. The 3.7L puts out less HP 210 vs 240.

Ottawa Citizen newspaper reports that 450,000 2002-03 model Jeep Liberty's are being recalled for front suspension problem( replace ball joints & install heat shields). All liberty's built since March 2003 have had the heat shields installed.

Thanks - sounds like my son's would be fine since it is a '04 model.
