Just got it in my mailbox today and there was a comparison of Luxury SUVs. The writers conclusion was that you don't need to spend the extra $ for an MDX/RX330/XC90/FX35/X5 because the Pilot and Highlander scored similar or higher than each of these vehicles. They cost around $33k versus $40-$55 for the luxury vehicles.

From the recommendations section:

• RX330 and Acura MDX provide more comfortable but less exciting driving experience.
• CR could not recommend the Audi Allroad or BMW X5 because of their below-average reliability.
• The BMW X5 3.0i's poor emergency handling also keeps it from being recommended.

Thus, among the list of recommended luxury SUV's , the Pilot is #2 on the list.
