Thumbs up Consumer Reports Aug 2003

In this month's issue CU looks at midiszed SUVs. Tested were the Murano. Endeavor, 4Runner, Pacifica, Montero and the TrailBlazer.

The summary showed the PILOT still at the top of the list, followed by the Murano and then the Highlander (all car-derived SUVs).

Did they only test 5 or 6 but also rank previously tested ones? I saw a list of about 13 with the Jeep Grand Cherokee ranked last.

Good job, Pilot!

CR always ranks all the cars in the category being tested. So while they didn't test the Pilot in this issue, they ranked the Pilot as (still) first in the category of Midsized SUVs.

We wouldn't feel differently about our Pilot if Consumer Reports had lowered it's rating. But it's nice to have confirmation from their panel that the Pilot is indeed, at the top of the list.

Interesting that the Endeavor was ranked 1st and the Pilot 4th (I think it was 4th, someone correct me if needed) in a recent evaluation by Edmunds.com (which was the basis of a thread here).
