Unhappy What should I be paying?

I am looking to purchase a Pilot and I wanted to know if I maybe getting a good price. My job has this service called UBS to and the have a price listed for 31K for EX leather with DVD. I was wondering if I could nego. a lower price by putting something like a 1/3 (10k) down for it. If anyone know where if MD or VA I could get a good deal less than that let me know.

For the EX Leather with DVD, MSRP is $32,480. The Consumer Reports Wholesale price is $28,303. which includes any dealer incentive or holdback. You should pay approximatly 5% above the Consumer Reports Wholesale price. So, your best deal should be around $29,718 plus tax and license.

At $31,000 from the UBD service, it seems like a good deal because it is $1,480 off the MSRP. But if you shop around, you should be able to get a better deal starting from the Consumer Report Wholesale price.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your negotiations.

There are places in the Md/Va area that will beat the UBS price. I dealt with Hersons Honda in Rockville last month. Worked out the best deal I could but told them that I would be getting a UBS price. Called them the next day with the UBS price and they beat that (not by much).

Pilots in this area are not getting much of a discount. Hersons throws in options for a lower price rather than discounting the Pilot, but they do deal.

FWIW, I paid 30,500 for Ex-L with running boards and the protection package. Ourisman Honda in Bethesda let me walk on that price.

Hello,

I paid $28,800 for EX-L, two weeks ago. The next day I got a call from another dealer that I was waiting to get a quote from, told me that I could have one for 28,600! (that was after I told him that I bought one for 28,800 so, may be he just told me that to make me feel bad about not purchasing from their dealership)

Hope this helps.

The dealer doesn't care if you put that much money down, in fact most would prefer you put less down. The more you finance, the more they make on the back end of the deal.
