I have to agree with NYT on MDX's look. It just does not impress me. Even if MDX were selling at the same price as Pilot, I would still have picked Pilot. (One of the reasons that prompted me to go ahead with '07 Pilot even though I knew that a redesign is coming was because I was afraid that a new Pilot would look like MDX.)

Carsdirect still has the target price for a 2007 MDX at the MSRP and no where near the invoice...At least in my Atlanta zip code.

In regard to design, the exterior is starting to grow on me. I now like it more than the previous MDX version. The interior is smokin, but not quite as utilitarian as the Pilot. (I don't mind carrying stuff around in the Pilot, and I think I would be afraid of getting the MDX dirty)

All that being said, I was not willing to pay the large increase in price to go with the MDX...Just not worth it considering the discounts available on the Pilot. I really like the idea of buying a vehicle in its last model year so that you get the best pricing that seems to holds its value better over the years. We did a similar purchase on my wife's RX300 and it has held its value unbelievably well. I am hoping the same for the Pilot.

The 2007 Acura MDX luxury SUV (along with the 2008 Ford Taurus and twin Mercury Sable) earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's To Safety Pick award.
