Default Honda owner for life.. you bet! What about you?

My past GM/Fords always had me in the shop! Switched to honda and I am not going to complain about the fact my Pilot has been in the shop now, the second time in the last week. Why am I not going to complain? It's in for an emissions sensor, of which the 1st replacement failed and they need do it again... Bid deal, I would rather have this than former vehicle major failures!!!!!
Why else am I grateful?
The 1st visit (enterprise) gave me a brand spanking new Chrysler Aspen... what a hunk of junk! Compared to the pilot, it was a turtle! no pickup what so ever, the handling... turning/braking etc... horrid! The kicker... I got a whooping 9 miles to the gallon
Ok... today (back at the dealer, (enterprise again) gets me a V-8 4 runner. 1st thoughts were it's OK... for sure it has way more spunk than the pilot! I'm guessing the towing capacity is better as well.
Ok... now the bad. Normal handling, ride, turning, braking is marginally worse than the pilot.
It may be an optical apperance, but it seems much smaller inside! MUCH.
Ok not the topper... it starts snowing today here. Hands down no option for me to change my mind and I challenge anyone to test drive one (in the snow and find out for themselves! The 4 runner blows... where the pilot goes straight and even... the 4 runner swerves sideways then a light comes on to tell you your swerving??? Hondas all wheel drive? Kudos to Honda! The 4 runner blows... it spins the wheels, jumps all over the place, then makes noise like you wouldn't believe... the whole time, wheels spinning and making loud noises! I try 4 wheel low... ha ha ha! Joke... same noises on top of a damn beeper telling me on the dash that I'm in 4 low..duh!
I had a buddy at work check it out as he has a 2001.. he claims his runs better but does not all the new bells and whistles that this one has?? whatever... with Hondas SAFTEY / quality and value... I'm here to stay!
Anyone have similar comparisons?

Default No brand loyalty here

I've not yet owned two cars by the same manufacturer. That's not to say I wouldn't buy another Honda - I certainly would. But to limit yourself to one brand of Kool-Aid, is a mistake (IMO).

And it depends on your vehicle needs. Honda makes some great reliable vehicles. But they are limited to light off-road and towing capability and they don't have a vehicle in the large SUV category.

To paraphrase James Bond, Never Say Never. Absolute statements are great for posturing and for fan sites. The real world is different.

While I appreciate the reliability of the H&A offerings I have owned as well as currently have in my stable, there is some to be desired in terms of the passion of the car that stirs my soul. Something that speaks beyond the sum of its parts, that hits in the subjective feeling and emotion arena. Not to say that H&A makes bland cars, as I loved my S2000 and am pining to get another one. But there's something to be said about the old school charm of an E30 M3, the rawness of an Elise, the back-pinning torque of an E55 hitting its stride, etc., etc. While H&A makes some very fine cars that are great values, there are also many great offerings out there that ought to be at least given a chance.
