Default Sunroof adjustment

OK experts,

I have a question for you all.

The rear edge of the factory sunroof does not close flush with the rest of the roof. When you hold it to close it, it is like it almost will not push it the last little bit of travel.

There HAS to be an easy adjustment to this. I know that I can take it to the dealer, and they will handle it, but what will they smudge up in the process?

Any thoughts on this?

Our old VW had 2 screws that could be easily adjusted...........

Sorry mod, but this needs to be moved to problems, not comparisons (my apologies!).

But, does anyone have an answer, anyone?

Bueller, Bueller...................

The sun roof has 2 adjustments: height and limit switch.

The height of the glass adjustment involves installing shims between the glass frame and glass bracket nuts.

The limit switch adjustment involves first removing the headliner, then sliding the limit switch fore or aft.

Either way, the dealer might be the best place to perform the adjustment.

Sounds like the simpler of the two procedures (installing shims) may just solve the problem.

Thanks A6Pilot, great information.

I was thinking it might be a very simple adjustment, was avoiding the dealer if possible.

I appreciate it!

Regards,
