Well I have owned a Suburban for 13 years and it is a great road trip vehicle. The full sized GMC truck seats are probably the best in the industry. I do have to say after being scared out of my witts for 13 years by the ABS of the Suburban the Pilot is a pleasure to drive. The Honda seats are acceptable and maybe even upscale compared to most other mid priced SUVs but not the GMC comfort that I am used to. For handling and safety compared to the old Suburban... well... the Pilot wins and outshines the large truck for handling.

My kids each had a bench seat but I have the 1500. The brakes are fine if I don't hit any road grit or rain or manhole covers or snow or ice. It is necessary to use 4wd if the weather is bad....and gas mileage with 4wd goes down to about 8mpg city...ouchy.
