Default If the election were held today ...

... well, for one thing, most people would be surprised.

Based on the heated debate in this thread , it's apparent we have some strong opinions among Pilot owners. Now that the Democratic ticket has been solidified, and before both major national conventions, we can get an idea of where we stand as a community. Nothing scientific here, just some good clean throat-ripping fun.

Perhaps after the conventions as we get closer to the election (say, after Labor Day) we can ask a moderator to lock out the poll and start another one to see if things change much.

I thought about not including Nader but if you feel he shouldn't be in there, well, just don't vote for him (especially if you didn't know he even had a running mate). I also thought about putting in an undecided option, but I hate that because it just creates ambiguity in polls and [s]he's never been elected to office anyway.

Wink

Remember you Dems, the rules have changed. No voting twice and dead members can't vote like they did in Chicago in the 60's.

Here's my vote to close this poll.

I know that politics is close to many people's heart, including mine, but I don't think it appropriate here. What's that bartender rule; never talk about politics or religion?

Now, what's this I hear about Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, and even Yugo, being better than Honda?!!!

h3xme, I personally have no problem with the poll, unless the board would decide to make politics off limits period. If posters wish to revisit/continue the same debate covered in the Fahrenreit 9-11 thread, I think they should post there.

It'll be kinda fun to see how the poll shapes up, since people can "vote" without fear of or time commitment afterward to dealing with flames, criticism, or explanation.

Ain't that the truth. Now I know why it is so hard to understand jdeanski. He's always talking with one foot in his mouth.

Seems to me there were some districts reporting excessive votes in Chicago in 2000!

I am far more concerned with people voting based on Moores "facts" than I am of any "counting errors".

Can we not discuss/debate any topics in a civilized manner without being personal?

I think that the important lesson to take away from this poll is that every election is an important one, and everyone of voting age needs to register and vote. I've voted in every election that I can remember since reaching voting age (except for maybe a poorly advertised primary), including one local election for County Supervisor that was decided by 5 votes.

If you haven't registered, make that effort over the next two weeks to do so. If you are registered, make plans to vote. And make the effort to see that your neighbors who might not otherwise have a way to get to the polling place have a way to do so. After all, you have all that passenger room in your Pilot.

Yeah, be thankful that our ballot doesn't look like anything like the former Iraqi ballot...
