What I did on my Chevy S-10 was use some Zip ties to attach a Bosch 30 amp relay to the bottom of the gas pedal to prevent the gas pedal from going all the way down.

I know this sounds wierd, but If I really need to go fast I can still bury it into the carpet and still take off quickly if I need to. What it does though is makes it harder to press the gas so easily. I have one of those overhead consoles that calculates average MPG. Since I have put that realy under there, the computer had shown an increase of 3 MPG average.

The other thing I have been doing is to use my cruise control when on the highway I also have been driving a bit slower on the highway. I am usually that guy thats passing everybody, now im that guy thats getting passed.

The funny thing that I have realized is that driving a bit slower is actually a lot more relaxing. When Im driving fast and passing people, I tend to get ticked when someone is going slow in the inner lane. Now I just hang out in the outer lane and laugh at the other people slamming on their brakes because someone slower changed lanes in front of them.

Default AAA Credit Card

Saw an article in the Sunday paper here a couple of weeks ago. AAA Credit Card will provide a 5% rebate on all gas purchases if you swipe the card at the pump instead of going inside. On $2 gas that's a saving of $ .10 cents a gallon!!

Made a believer out of me. I called the next day and added a credit card to my wallet. Website is here: .http://www.ouraaa.com/memberserv/online/handbook/financial.html if anyone is interested.

i don't worry about the gas prices. we have to pay what ever it is anyway and for all of us with SUV and Trucks, we all knew going in that the gas mileage was not that great

I cried "Uncle" once the price neared $2/gal by trading vehicles with my other half. I'm now driving the 35 mpg Civic on my 20-mi. commute to work, leaving him with the Pilot for his shorter drive to the subway station. Filling up the bigger vehicle twice a week at thirty-plus dollars a pop was getting a bit much.
