I think the one and only person that we've banned completely from the site has been marco telephone for those of you old timers who were around almost two years ago and remember that piece of work!!!

jcard71/mdxrules wasn't banned from the site -- he was just shamed into leaving by the other members -- again, that thread was pretty hilarious, too...

Search the site for his name and read the threads that he's posted in...

There is an ignore feature. Click on the profile button in one of their posts, then click on the ignore link near the bottom right of their profile.

IMO - let him rant and rave. As long as he is not abusive, offensive or vulgar let him speak his mind, after all there is always the ignore list.

I think that was the problem - posting some abusive and directly insulting comments.

Maybe the admins need a way to prevent him from starting a new thread. That seemed to be the start of the problem. Too lazy to look for an existing thread, so he'd just start a new one and in his own words, let the admins clean up his mess.

You know, that might help a lot in general, if you could keep anyone with less than, say, 5 or 10 posts from starting a new thread. They could use the "new members ask here first" thread if they couldn't find an existing one, and someone could start a thread for them if it was legit. That would keep hit and run trolls out too. It also seems like most of the "hey, have you guys heard about the transmission recall" threads are started by new posters.

I'm on another forum that is set up this way. I don't remember how many posts are required, but your first cannot be the start of a new thread. I never gave it much thought before now - but I agree, that may save a lot of the duplicate threads.

I think 'ol cheetat1 is back, lurking around under a new alias. I'm wondering if anyone else thinks they've spotted our whining friend?
