I voted for "Not so happy, some problems, but I can live with it (03)". But having read other choices, particularly the one about (Toyota), I still probablywould've chosen the Pilot over the Highlander.

However, I'm still experiencing some problems I just didn't expect from a Honda; perhaps my expectations were too high.

I'm very happy with my 03 Pilot, the only issue I have which is still unresolved is the saggy leather seats.

1 positive choice, 1 pretty neutral, 3 negatives, not much wiggle room on the happy side. Maybe after a long road trip and some winter driving I'll be more ecstatic, but I don't know where I'd put "I'm fine with my choice, no problems, but it is just a vehicle, for Pete's sake" in that poll.

Right on BCinTX. It's just a vehicle. I would vote "I'm happy with my choice" if it were available. Since an appropriate range of responses is not available, I'm not voting in this pole.

Somewhat happy. This is my wife's car, and I drive it on the weekends.

I'm still upset over the cricket/rattle behind the dash. I really don't want the dealer taking apart the whole car for something that shouldn't exist.

Also gas mileage is terrible. My dad has a V8 4Runner and beats me in gas mileage by 4 points AND is quicker.

If I drove the Pilot like I drive my Maxima I would get 10 MPG !

On the bright side, I do love the ride and utility.

How do you know they read these forums? Having been on several Honda (and other) forums/mail lists over the years, I have often wondered if any of the manufacturers monitor/read these forums. Personally, I think either they do not, or if they do, nothing ever comes out of it.

The second roll seat improvement in 04s was the result of posts on many forums.

I am happy with my Pilot. There have been more problems than I expected, but my Dealer resolves them with very little pain on my part. Some of the accessories should really have been standard equipment IMO. (Fog Lights, Cargo Cover, Fender Flares, Transmission & PS coolers and Cross Bars. These things just make the Pilot look "finished".

Now if it only had Michelin's standard.......................

Very Happy. Knew about some of the "problems" going in. Haven't had any yet at 5300 miles. Won't trade it until next generation has side curtain airbags...

What happened to just "Happy" ? I don't think I can be "Very Happy" with any one vehicle. One day its too small to take everything I want to haul, the next it's too big to fit in a small parking spot. One day it's uses too much gas, then next it doesn't accelerate like a jet.

I have had mine almost 3 weeks now. Only had one problem with a leaking rear shock. Part is on order. I do have a couple of things I would done differently in the design.

While I agree that there's no evidence that anyone from Honda reads these forums, on another autoforum I follow, the North American customer service department is a frequent poster, encouraging owners with complaints to contact the central office.

IMHO, Honda would advance their image by doing the same. It certainly would give the impression that the care - beyond the rote post-sales / post-service surveys.
