Question How many forums do you follow?

How many forums/boards/newsgroups do you follow or read/respond in each week? In addition to this one I follow xmfan.com, tivocommunity.com, vodnews.com, and every now and then a cell phone newsgroup or Apple Macintosh discussion. Interestingly, I just unconsciously typed the list in the same priority order that I devote to them.

In the last 6 weeks I've made some technology "changes," and hence started following these other forums. XM Radio is the best, and I'll never return to regular AM/FM.

The next improvement was Tivo, and that's a pretty cool VCR replacement. I have two units connected to my home wireless network, capturing my favorite shows each week so I can watch them at my leisure. Or I can watch live TV and pause it to run to the fridge, etc. Pretty neat.

The Tivo investment prompted me to make the move to digital cable, and Comcast offers a Video on Demand feature, which prompted me to locate vodnews.com to learn how to use it, etc. Pretty new forum, as I was the 42nd member to register.

Just 2 now for me. I found myself spending way too much time online recently and have since cut back a bit. This is the first site I visit when I get home and the last one before I hit the rack. I will run over to www.autopia.org every other day or so just because I love the look of a nice clean, shiny car.

I'm jealous, I would love to get a Tivo! I contemplate it about once a week, when the sale papers come out. I think if I ever break down and buy one I would opt for the product lifetime subscription as once I buy something, I keep it for a long, long time.

I took advantage of the Best Buy $50 mail in rebate, and got a 40 hour for $200, and an 80 hour for $300. I did the lifetime on both of my Tivo's. The subscription is free starting in month 23.08 with the lifetime, but who's counting. Tivo's dicounting the Home Media Option, required to network the boxes, to $59 right now as well

Default Too many fora!

I spend way too much time online reading the various fora. In decreasing order of activity:

Hondapilot.org
Fatwallet Hot Deals
Bargainshare.com
SprintUsers.com
AcuraMDX.org
ReplayTV on AVSforum
DSLreports
XMFan
Jay, I've had my Panasonic Showstopper for about 1.5 years, and it pains me to watch TV in realtime. I just hate waiting for commercials and I love the instant replay features.

Well, my wife and I purchased a 2003 LX CR-V, so now I spend most of my time at these two:

1. www.hondaSUV.com
2. www.gocrvclub.org
3. www.honda-pilot.com (every now and again just to visit)

I used to be a mainstay on the Baltimore Orioles Fan Forum, but no longer participate due to:

1. An upswing in idiots that populate the board

2. The long-term sorry state of the team...which kind of limits the scope of discussion.

The best way to Tivo is with Directv. The Tivo Directv box has two satelite inputs, so you can record 2 shows at once, while watching a third. Plus the tivo box is only $99.00, the monthly fee is only $5.99 and it doesnt matter how many Tivos you have on that account. We have two one in the family room and one in the master bedroom. I have upgraded both units to record up to 212 hours each . Pretty cool huh??? The only down side is Directv is not offering the Home Media Option at this time.
