Default Rear Splash Guards

The rear splash guards are an option. For those who have them, do they really do anything? (Mine don't!)

My house is at the end of a mud and gravel driveway which is about the length of a football field, (which is now covered with snow), so I take my Pilot "off road" every day. Trust me, they make a big difference. Also, on the highway, they reduce the salt and ash thrown up by the rear wheels. I'm not sure if they'd be of as much benefit in San Diego.

I live in the D.C. area (Maryland) suburbs so I am probably in the same boat as someone in San Diego in not really "needing" them, per se... but I got them because I thought the Pilot looked "unbalanced" with front splash guards and not rear ones (like missing a shoe or something like that).

Got 'em! Glad I do. Look good and help with road muck!

Got 'em. Like 'em.

And remember, rear mud gurads/mud flaps/whatever you call them, also help out the people BEHIND you from rocks or other objects that your rear tires kick up.

YMMV

Just had the rear splash guards installed yesterday. Too soon to know if they help at all, but my PILOT sure looks better with both front and rear- as someone else said, more balanced. I sure don't understand why Honda would put them on the front (standard) and not on the rear!

Default Body color splash guard

Has anybody painted their splash guard to match the body color? I am thinking about painting the fog light cover to match the body color but not sure about the splash guard. Post some picture if you have them.

I believe they do help. But they don't completely prevent some splash to still come up from under which ends up on the under/side of the bumper.

Default splash

I got them because I hate when people kick rocks up at me, and I hate to be that guy. Plus like others said it makes the Pilot look more balanced.

I like the rear guards. Easy to install yourself and I've noticed it helps minimize the amount of road muck that spins up onto the rear side panels.

I like my splash guards but I do wish they did a better job at keeping water and dirt off the rear lower bumper.

Kippy95 - If you paint your splash guards please post some pics. Are you going to paint your door handles too?

Answer: MONEY Honda probably figured that if they gave you two, then you would say, "Man, that looks weird, I need two more!" so they sell them to you as accessories and make a profit. They tempt you with two to make you buy two more! (Just my 2 cents)

I don't know if the rear splash guards do anything, but my dealer threw them in at no additional cost. This is something that is pretty easy to negotiate for, since they don't cost the dealer that much.
