Have 30,000 on my Goodyear Integrities. Haven't aligned since I am worried about bringing on the dreaded 70 mph vibration. No sign of undue tire wear due to alignment.
Should have added a choice for "Whenever I want since I have lifetime alignment." Ususally it takes three alignments to recover the cost of a lifetime alignment offer so it depends on if you keep your vehicle long enough. (Jay, don't bother considering this option. )

If the vehicle is tracking well, and the tires show no unusual wear, getting an alignment is usually a BAD idea.

36k miles, no uneven wear on my CT's , no pulling to one side. Why spend the extra money if not needed?

Over the years, I've had several tire places and indy shops tell me that it should be done every 30k, if you don't live in an area with a lot of potholes or dirt roads.
The indy shop, where I got my new LTX tires, said that you may not feel a pull but if it's off by a little but it will make a noticeable difference in tire wear. I have 34k on the Pilot so I guess it was time. Looking at the print out, the left front and rear were off.

I will typically spring for a re-balance of the wheels and a vehicle alignment once in the life of a set of tires (~25k mi.), usually along with some other maintenance milestone.
I would never do it more often than that. The only reason would be if the car becomes noticeably out of alignment (tire wear, pulling, etc.), not to adhere to a tire warranty. It's cheaper to buy new tires than to keep a vehicle aligned perfectly enough to ever collect on a tire mileage warranty, which is pro-rated anyway. That's why tire mileage warranties are bulls hit.

Our local tire dealer throws in a free alignment with the purchase of a set of tires. They price is not added in to the cost of the tires because they are still competitively priced - so I let them do it. Usually I don't feel any pulling or notice any problem wear patterns and the majority of the time they find that they only need to make very minor adjustments.

On my wife's car, I bought the lifetime alignment from Firestone for ~ $129. The third alignment will make it worthwhile and I can get it aligned anytime I feel the need. I may get it when I get new tires on the Pilot. That way I won't feel frustrated when I hit the pothole outside the tire dealer.
