Smile Just bought a Pilot, now did I get a deal??

Hello Everyone!

After being in an accident and totalling my old daily driver, my wife and I decided that there was not ime like the present to replace our trusty daily driver, with a larger, more family oriented vehicle. We decided on the Pilot for it's reliability, the all-wheel drive system, and the third row of seats for little people! After much debating and financial soul searching we thought that a slightly used pilot wold be our best bet,, now did we get a deal??? the car in question is a;
2003 Starlight Silver Metallic EX-L RES
one miniscule scratch on the outside, (really! only one!)
no rips, rattles, tears, stains, or strange smells.
All the options,
only 29530 miles,
and we got it for 20000 flat, as a Honda Certified Vehicle with that extended warranty. We are curious as to how we did. any ideas? btw we love the car! not giving it back or selling it.

Thanks!

That sounds like a pretty good deal for a Honda certified used car. How long is the extended warranty good for on a used Honda certified car? I been looking at some used Pilots with way more mileage (40-50,000) for about that price.

7 years or 100000 miles from date of ORIGINAL Delivery, cost us a total of 700 bucks, but they threw in the roadside assistance too. they are out there, just gotta look!

You did good and don't believe anyone if they say otherwise. They are just jealous!

Initially, we started looking for a used Pilot but with the narrow price differences we were wooed into a new one. I would have bought the one you describe had I seen it.

Default you did good

We just got one, but had to get one with a lot of miles on our budget. Sounds like you got a creampuff, and the warranty sounds great.

You got basically a new car for 20K, when they run 30K brand new.

Nice!

Mine is a 2004 LX with 37,000 miles. Very clean car - seemed like everything was good except it needed new tires ($440).

I paid $16,600. But...

I have $607 in repairs the first two weeks.

EGR valve and water passage coolant gasket repair.

A $700 extended warranty sounds like a great deal for sure...as you will probably be using it.

Ya that looks like a real good deal on the 2003 w/ 29K miles. My research shows that vehicle's retail value at $22 - $24K.

Unhappy Thanks!!

Thanks everyone! now atleast I don't feel taken,, somhow the electrical gremlins are surfacing, cruise switch stopped working, power window pass. side stopped working, battery died and the poor car is getting horrendous mileage, (less than 19) funny thing though, the warranty ended up paying for its self, (new battery, switch, actuator for pass door lock, switch for pass window, auto cruise switch) in the first 3000 miles. hmm, good deal! surprisingly does alright off-road, no jeep, but it'll get ya there!! when I get some pics of it I'll post new ones, anyone know though of some OEM skid plates? would like to get some better protection under her!
