i've had a few rock chips but my first scratch happened about 6 months ago when i parked the pilot in the garage and left the rear hatch open after unloading groceries
then i went inside and closed the garage door without looking
next morning i tried opening the garage but it kept getting stuck halfway
got inside and saw the horrible 12 inch scratch on that hatch

Parking 4 spaces away didn't do any good when the parking lot filled up and a rather obese woman in a clapped out lt blue Cutlass Ciera opened her door with her foot.....right into the side of my Pilot.

Worse, I watched her do it. Even worse, I was too busy trying to feed my 1 year old to do anything about it or go say anything to her. Fortunately, the plastic molding on the side did it's job and protected the metal. She did a number on the plastic though.

I had my scratch within 27 days since pilot was brand new. I was doing revese on driveway from garage while talking with wife when I bumped my pilot with my other car's mirror on driveway.

I was so much hurt because of scratch if scratch was done by my wife or my dad, I would be yelling but Because of done by myself, I am keeping my mouth shut..........

I think, I will get fixed.........

Does an interior scratch on the center console caused by the seat belt latch count? It was scratched within the first week.

I've had mine since June 6th and not a scratch on it! Of course it's spent most of the time in the garage. My wife thinks I'm crazy because not only do I park it far far away from everybody, but if we are eating or something, I park it so I can watch it the entire time. It's going to happen sooner or later, and I'm dreading the day that it happens.

I am so over worrying about scratches (although I must admit that I don't feel this way when I first buy any new car). I think, though, that I've just accepted the fact that "scratches happen", they are completely unavoidable. Rest assured, sometime, somewhere, someone -- and it might even be you! -- will scratch your car. I'm more concerned with significant dings and damage of that nature.

Someone backed into my car in a parking lot. His rear bumper hit my driver's side front fender & bumper. It left scratch on the plastic bumper cover & dented fender. $800 damage. He paid for it but I was pissed. My Pilot was 6 weeks old.

I was waiting to exit the parking lot. There was a car in front & back of me so I could not get out of the way. I honked & honked but he kept backing up until he hit my car. He was driving a Ford Explorer.

3 months now...still no scratches! Maybe it's because I don't let my wife drive it...she just totaled our '95 accord by driving into a parked car

No disrespect to our lady members here, but I totally understand on the wife deal...My exwife she kept her bathroom and closet spotless.. she would clay bar the bath if I told her about it! I only let her drive the CR-V because she could care less! We bought both, the same day and the V looks like world war 4 went all around it! scrapes, scratches and wheel gouges.. when I ask about them, she say's I nit pick
