Default How do you use your A/C Controls

So I was coming back from a backpacking trip with a friend this weekend, and he was messing with my A/C controls; adjusting the fan speed, temp, etc.

It got me to wondering, how many of us mess with the controls, and how many just like to keep it on auto. Personally, I usually keep it on auto, and adjust the vents once and a while.

100% full auto! That's the purpose of the auto climate control.

Mostly full auto - except Mrs. Colorider likes to over-ride the "dual" and set her side warmer than my side.

Mostly full auto, exception is defogging windshield at start up when Pilot has been parked outside in freezing temps or when kids want warmer/colder temps for the rear pasenger area.

I think the auto setting (at least in summer haven't had a winter yet) provides inadequate air flow and inevitably I manually increase fan speed and redirect the airflow

one of the best feature that a pilot can offer auto climate control.this summer i noticed when i set my temp to whatever temp i like...after a minute you can hear tha blower working if the temp is so hot inside and it just take few minutes and your comfortable...

Sometimes I lower the fan speed as it gets a bit loud and I'm willing to slow the cooling. Defrost mode is notorious for blasting and once the window is clear I cut the fan down. What I do like about the fan is that in the winter it won't start blowing hard until the engine has warmed up enough to blow good heat, so I let full auto do its thing for that.

I also still tend to turn off the A/C if I'm climbing a long hill. It's a carryover from driving my 97 CRV, which between the lack of power and as I came to find out, a somewhat clogged radiator, would overheat pretty easily.

And on nice days I turn the A/C off and open the windows if I"m in town. Even if I'm on the highway with the windows up, if I know its cool enough to keep my comfortable I may turn the A/C off as I see no need for it to cut on at all if it happens to edge up to my thermostat temp in the cabin.

Yeah, yeah... Maybe the next redesign will get dual zone climate control for the front seat passengers.

Full auto 95% of the time..........

5% of the time I re-direct the vents to the floor, increase the fan speed and enjoy a nice cigar with the window's open..............
