Default Do you wash your Pilot yourself or let others do it

I will not trust my Pilot to another person to wash. Even though the dealer sent me coupons for free carwashes, I do it myself. I've had my Pilot going on 2 months and, except for last weekend when it rained the whole time, I've washed it every weekend by hand.

I'm with you Ag. My Accord is the one I will run through the charity events now. Even the higher priced place like to whip out that brush from the bucket to 'loosen up the dirt' on your tires, lower body panels, the grille, the back of the trunk....drives me nuts. In winter I'd rather spray it off in between and wait for those fluke warm winter days to wash it fully. For the Spring --> Fall time, I'm in the driveway scrubbing away.

Our Accord was regularly washed at the 'brushless' car-washes but now that I have the Pilot, I have begun to wash and Zaino both the Accord as well as the Pilot.

I generally do the hand wash while weather allows: i.e. temps are above freezing. For harsher winter days we have a full service wash in town. Costs aboout $10 a pop. 8.50 if you buy a "book" of washes.

No machines will touch the Pilot. All washing by hand.

I do all the washing myself because I am cheap and practical. Except when it is really really cold out, then I will take it through a brushless car wash.

Default wash this.

If I have the time, I will wash it myself (plus I want to try out this Zaino I hear so much about). The busy times will force me to use a touchless wash, but we have a really nice one close to where I live, so it's ok.

I'm still trying to find one of these "touch-less" washes in my area. It will come in handy in the winter time, when it is impossible to wash your car by hand.

I love my Pilot but not as much as my kids. Since they aren't old enough to make car washing a family experience, the Pilot zips through the local car wash and our (all-too-limited) time together is spent at more age-appropriate activities.

We've had our pilot for a month and a half now, washed it twice only. thanked God the monsoon season is over. It takes a good 2 hours for a decent overall cleaning. The same 2 hours is plenty time to detail my coupe with a wax job included.

I've turned washing my Pilot into a family experience with my 4 1/2 year old. I vaccuum, then I put him in the back with the rear seat folded down to vaccuum to his heart's content while I do the windows. Our favorite music (Bluegrass!) is playing all the while. Then the CD moves to a jam box in a safe-from-the water area while we take turns spraying down the Pilot. He then gets a little rag to "help" me wash and, when we are done, he gets to rinse (after I have rinsed to make sure no soap dries). He then "helps" me dry. It's about this time that his arms get tired so he plays nearby while I finish drying. Last, he watches (from a safe distance) while I spray the tire dressing on to "make the rubber shine" as we put it. So it can be a family expierience to wash the Pilot together, even with fairly young ones.

But hey, what did you expect from "the ultimate family vehicle"?

Default All by hand

I wash mine by hand and let my children help out. I toss them a few bucks if they do a good job. Seems to help motivate them? Go figure,,,
