Default What finger do you use to lock/unlock the door?

How many of you found the door lock switch on Pilot is awkwardly designed? I've found it is somewhat difficult not trigering the window switch everytime when I am trying to lock/unlock the door. I use my left hand everytime. And I think the lock/unlock switch needs to be redesigned.

Wow... It would seem we are dangerously close to running out of topics for these Pilot polls...

I don't lock the door, but I still never get the driver's window down on the first shot. Always get a back one 1st.

You're right, this topic is indeed one worth voting on.... In fact I voted 'middle finger'.

Default Re: What finger do you use to lock/unlock the door?

I almost always lock it using the keyless entry, but on those occasions where I've needed to use the lock controls on the door panel, I have noticed how awkward the design is.

My 02 Accord had the door lock control in the same place, but there was a tab that stuck out of it that made it more like a rocker switch. I was surprised to see that Honda didn't use a similar design in the Pilot.

No big deal, but it is somewhat of an annoyance as you said.

sheesh! I don't think it's that akward. I use the fob to lock most of the time when I leave, but lock it with my thumb when traveling through "bad" sections of town.

And, I'm glad I'm not the only one coordinated enough to always roll down the back window when I roll up to the ATM or menu board......

Getting a new car always has a learning curve with regard to how things operate and where they are located. After 12 years with my previous car, there were quite a few things that I found annoying because of the differences in the the Pilot. Now, very few are still an issue. However, neither of the things mentioned above were ever a problem for me.

I confess that I don't use the door lock once the doors are closed, so it might be awkward then, but I do use it every time I exit the car and want to lock it. (I was used to doing this with my Jeep, it saves the battery in the remote -- slightly -- and it allows me to set the locks while a door is still open -- which is a PITA about the remote.) I can't say that I have ever found the use of the door switch to be anything but a breeze.

Likewise, the window operation has only given me pause when I have accidentally activated the Auto down feature when I only intended to lower the window a bit -- usually in the rain or snow. Since I never had an automatic function on my power windows I'm just not used to it, but I do like it! I have never hit the wrong button and opened the wrong window, though.

I guess this all just proves that I'm a bit odd...
