Well those are about as accurate as any other predictions!

My dealer tells me Honda Reps have been hinting at the long rumored V8, but from the most recent thread it looks like a 3.8l V6

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/38135

Pilot will be freshened for 2006. The changes won't be major, but Honda says they will include the mileage-boosting cylinder-deactivation feature already offered on the Odyssey minivan, which uses the same basic V6. In addition, all '06 Pilots are likely to add no-cost curtain side airbags and perhaps the antiskid system now restricted to top-line versions. This would be in line with Honda's new policy of making such features standard for most all Honda/Acura models by 2007.

A fully redesigned Pilot is apparently on tap for 2008, with a new 3.8-liter V6 likely. Other components and even some body/chassis structure could come from Honda's new 2006 Ridgeline pickup.

I'd still go with the Pilot.

With one baby the Pilot's just right.
With two ( in the future ) maybe still the Pilot.
With three ( in the far future) probably a mini-van ( Odyssey)

We'll have to wait and see what happens when the Pilot dies...

If I were buying now, I would lean towards an Toyota 4Runner.

Not sure about replacing the Pilot at this point, however, our Subaru will be replaced in the next 1-3 years. Here are the frontrunners:

rx330
RDX
B9X

Of course the Ody will still be considered as well.

Lessee, I kept my '80 Chevy pickup for 8 years (bought it 2 years old), and I kept my '90 Toyota pickup for over 6 years, and then the '97 Exploder for 7-1/2 years. I figure the Pilot will be due for replacing around '11 or '12..who knows what they'll have then! I sure like my Pilot now, though.

Something a bit bigger...probably a Toyota Sequoia.
