Hehe...I have neither so the cap goes upside down with the handle in the "rain gutter" thing along the length of the roof.

I like the holder kind.

Are you speaking of your 2005 Pilot having neither? That surprises me since mine has both. It is tethered AND has a little plastic tab that goes into a little slot in the gas cover door, as seen here:
