Default persistent check engine light

The check engine light on my 08 Pilot has come on four times now within the last 18 months and has been in the dealership service 3 times for this issue. It is now back at the dealer for the 4th round of check engine diagnosis and repair. Previously, the Dealer has performed software updates and a valve adjustment.
Currently, dealer service tech has pulled the head service rep last mentioned that it may be an issue with a rocker arm,but hasn't corrected it yet. Tech has found a technical bulletin on this problem and has established contact with factory tech, but hasn't provided details of the issues. I get the impression they are lost.
I purchased the Pilot as certified pre-owned in Sept. 2010 from same dealer and have had no other problems except for the check engine light issue. 28,000 miles when purchased. Has 41,800 miles at present.
Has anyone experienced this problem? and how was it corrected?

I'm sorry you are feeling so frustrated. Going back to a Manufacturer for guidance is fine in my book as it will help them get it right.
Open up the link below, and the links it refers you to. Read them, print them and share with your service rep. Once a customer shows interest in a problem and some tech knowledge it helps them to want to help you rather than that other grumpy angry customer.
CEL..AGAIN..3rd time!

ALWAYS!!!!! get the code written down when you have then fix a CEL issue.

That way you know if it is the same problem or a new problem.
