Where can I learn more about using emoticons in my posts?

Are you refering to the smilies ? How about this link for a start

You should also be able to click on the smilies set on the right of the area where you type...

That's odd, I don't get them on the left or the right. I have to put in the code instead.

I have smilies turned on, but don't see them to the right or left either. I type in the code. At least I'm making progress.

Ho, I fixed it! In my Options settings, I had

"Use vBCode quick links on your message input screens?"

turned off. Clicked on "yes" and viola! Got Smillies!
