Default Horribly slow!!!!!!

Am I thte only one, or has this site become so pervasive with advertising that it's nearly impossible to navigate and post on because of the amount and insane file sizes of these advertisements??

You are not alone. They keep popping up almost every time I scroll.

I don't know whether it's the server, or the ads, but this site and its sister sites have gotten progressively worse over the last couple months.

Just got off the phone with Verticalscope, the parent company. Hopefully we'll see what's going on here, as I know traffic here is dropping as the frustration level rises.

Yeah, it's been slow across the board. We've been getting a lot of complaints on ToyotaNation.com and we've got waaaaaaay more ads there than we do here.

Sadly, ever since the Forum was renamed/sold the responsiveness has done downhill.

And another thing. I don't care one little bit about odyseys or Paris auto shows or spam from autoguide in my email box.

Rocky, there should be some setting in your CP to turn that off.

I thought I had it all buttoned up tight. Its as bad as FB which constantly resets your privacy settings.

Default Use an Ad blocker

If you are running Firefox, you can install a plugin (Adblock Plus) to disable ads while surfing the internet. After I installed it, the speed in accessing this site is like night and day!

+1 - never even noticed the ads. Not sure about Internet Explorer or Chrome, but I use Ad Block Plus for Firefox, and there's a similar plug-in for Safari.

Thanks hdzoro. I had Adblock Plus before and forget to reinstall it in Firefox.

thanks for the info hdzoror, site has been slow for me too, once my friend told me we could disable ads but all I was able to find in mozilla was turn off javascript. Will have to install and check browsing on.

Rocky, try disabling Recv. msgs from Admin and turn off ur subscriptions it should work

Thats all done.

With the 23-4 advertisements per page its takes a time to download the information we are actually interested in.

I'm wondering whether it was the people who bought this site who were behind Honda's sudden interest in it and demand to change the name. After all Honda has shown no interest in lesser brand sites. Only those with high interest and readership.

Edit: Forgot to mention, if you are a Firefox with Adblock plus user, and see a tab above an advert that says block, click on block and mark the advert to never appear again. All you'll see is an empty space.
