IIRC, I think admin had asked us sometime back to see how many people still use that URL and I think he had purposely expire once it was determined that not too many were using it anymore.

Using it vs, registyering it to protect traffic are two different things.

On a site I run for an industry trade group, I have about 15 domains registered.
