I bought the XBOX HD DVD, no issues here, I got 10 movies and it upconverts all my current titles...I dont regret it a bit, I also have a Super Beta Hi Fi that still records every day for a friend of mine and it has outlived about 4 VHS units.. SL-HF650, Sony.
