In any case, have a safe drive!!!

Might not be an option for you, but personally, I'm getting on one of my 'other' Hondas to relieve my PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome)

Smile

Lucky for you there are some serious members in this website. I'm from the windy city and have fond memories of these wonderful drives:
anything along Lake Michigan go all the way up north through kenilworth and visit bahai temple in wilmette. There's an incredible pancake restaurant up there you don't want to miss. Also, Evanston is a fun town.
Starve Rock st. park is awesome. look it up on a map. Lots of cliffs.
The Indiana Dunes is a good place to swim this summer and really has dunes.

Morton Arboretum makes for a good day trip.
Have fun!

Starved Rock State Park near Ottawa, IL was the first road trip that we took in our Pilot (late January). Beautiful park and good for hiking. When we went in January the bald eagles were still around. Saw 12+ eagles in one tree on an island in the middle of the Illinois River. Well worth the drive.

Seriously scamps...
You brought back alot of memories for me. Grew up in Northwest Indiana, (Indiana Dunes). Was going to suggest this to ramirami but not a 4 hour trek from NW Burbs. Used to go to Starved Rock in the Spring. It's beautiful!
What/where is Morton Arboretum?

ok i am back

ya I love starved rock too...does'nt feel its in illinois actually....beautiful place....

Morton Arboretum is in a town called lisle (western suburbs)

For those interested I went to harbour country in Michigan...(border of Michigan and Iniana). Loved how the pilot drove and I got 23miles/gallon.

The lake water is colder than freezing though. Cold enough to cryogenically freeze you....

Cool

Oh, another great trip is to galena but I don't remember exactly how long a ride it is. Galena is in the Nowest corner of IL and would be sooooo fun with the Pilot because it's hilly. It's esp. beautiful in the fall and has great lodges like eagle ridge. spend the weekend if you can. There's all sorts of attractions for kids or kids at heart too. If you golf, it's the place to be. Personally I hate golf.
