I know that this is an infrequented area of the site, but as per the above stickied thread, I am posting here.
Has anyone noticed the abundance of "sticky" threads on this site? I think that although these threads are useful and important, frequently they just distract you from the important threads below. Some of the sticky threads have not been active for over half a year! Moderators: I suggest that if a sticky thread has not been active for at least two months, it should be "de-stickified." Any thoughts? EDR

Totally disagree. If new members would review the sticky threads first, we wouldn't get so many new threads that have to be merged somewhere else, or emails or PMs to the most active members, who point someone back to another thread.

Okay. If the sticky threads are intended for new members, why isn't there a 'new members' section that has all the pertinent info?

I hardly ever notice the stickies, since I use the "today's new threads" search almost exclusively.
