Default New Wave of Site Performance Problems?

Somehow, the latest wave of complaints has gotten posted under the "New Members Ask Here" thread, but I thought it needed its own thread. Several members (including yours truly) have been experiencing similar problems in the last few days, mainly:

* Page Can't Be Displayed message

* Slow movement between screens. (Several times, I had to exit, since screen had frozen up.)

Any ideas, Admin., on what's causing this for a lot of us, but by no means all?

As I stated previously, I am exploring some opportunities to move us to a dedicated server. I have the server, just need to find a bigger pipe to hook into.

This host (phpwebhosting.com) sucks. Although they advertise that you get "unlimited" of everything, including throughput, space, and other server resources, they told me to take a hike when I complained about our server issues. They just said, well, you are using too many resources, so find yourself a different host, which I am in the process of doing.

So please bare with me for a bit, until I find us a new home.

Thanks,
admin.

Admin., thanks for getting back to us and thanks for jogging my memory. I do recall now that you were looking to move to a dedicated server.

In the meantime, I'll just chill and be patient when the current host is misbehavin'. Thanks again for your efforts!
