Default those pesky Vibrant ads

Any way to turn of those damned Vibrant ads with key words in green and underlined? Those things are annoying as hell. I realize HP.org needs income, but WTF, those things are disctracting as a gnat buzzing around your ear!

I agree! Sometimes they're not working, and the site is much easier to navigate. I too wish there was a blocker at our end without impacting admin's income.

Well, Mozilla + Add Block Plus (a Mozilla add-in) make them all go away...

Keeps the pop-ups and the like at bay as well - when I launch with IE, makes the browsing experience feel really Add-eled

There is a way to opt out of the adds, because I did it and I don't get the double underlines you are talking about. Someone posted the fix in an hp.org thread.

The problem is it was a while ago - only had to do it once - now I don't remember the thread that has the info. Need to do some searching...

For IE users:

Find the file called "hosts" in the "\windows\system32\drivers\etc" directory and add this line at the bottom:

127.0.0.1 hondapilot.us.intellitxt.com

Save the file. Reload IE page.

If you also visit the acuramdx.org page, then add

127.0.0.1 acuramdx.us.intellitxt.com

to the bottom of the file also.

Cool, that's it. Thanks, jl_ss.

Search is all about keywords.
I couldn't find the right thread last night, but a quick search for "hosts" found this thread where you posted the fix last time.

I also had trouble finding my earlier post easily on this site. I have to remember "hyper-text" as a search term next time the issue arises......
