Lightbulb Suggestion: How 'bout a "favicon" for hondapilot.org

If you don't know what a favicon is, see here.

I like the way they make the browser visually easier to use. Adds a nice touch to the site too, as opposed to just a blank icon. Of course, it would be up to the admins to add the code to the templates but I don't imagine it's a big deal.

We could even have a little contest for designs.

What say you all?

I'll post an example just to kick it off (in case the idea goes anywhere). This was just a quick, down 'n' dirty regurgitation of the site logo. I don't think it's suitable because of the lack of contrast. Besides, there's gotta be somebody here with more imagination than this.

Great idea. I wondered why some icons appeared on bookmarks and nada on others.

You might want to send message to Admin and Tim at Hondacuraworld and tell them your idea. If they approve, the sample you provided seems good.

Looks great to me, but all I do is pay advertising fees to the site, I have no say in anything like this

Here's a site that will convert a picture file into a favicon for free.
Even tells you how to post the html correctly in your site.

http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/

Another idea for one would be a pix of a Pilot (like a smaller version of Tim's avatar above)

I sent a pm to the site administrator but haven't heard anything back. It all depends on him being willing and able to add the code to the templates.

As far as a design is concerned, I would like to see some submittals from those who are more talented and proficient with PhotoShop, PaintShop and the like. It has to scale well down to 16x16 pixels. As you can see, the one I posted above doesn't, even after changing the background to white ...
