Default Top Posting

I've noticed recently that several members quote another post, and "top post." At least I think that's what it's called in newsgroups parlance. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I find top posting takes a longer time to read and comprehend. What's everyone else think?

Here's how I normally respond, quoting another post.

Here's what I refer to as "top posting" looks like.

And let's not confuse top posting with post whoring, which someone who starts a thread with 4 straight posts could be accused of.

OK, OK, I plead guilty, please have mercy and don't make me drive that Chevy as punishment.

Seriously, I am guilty but I thought it was preferred to read the current comment and then see, if you need to, the reference.

Could we make that reference thread that Jay started a sticky to stay at the top of the listings?

I plead no contest with Judge Jay and ask for leniency to simply pay for a round at the HP bar.

Sportymonk, the charges are dismissed, except for court costs. This one's on Sporty. (You still have Tim's credit card, don't you?)

Sadly that's true. Friend cut up criedit cards but his wife went out and when she went to check out and said she didn't have her card, the clerk asked if she had a slip with the numbers on it. The wife did and the transaction was made.

Sorry for the hijack. Gack to the topic (and the bar with Tim's number!)

That won't hold up if the husband chooses to dispute it and the clerk will probably get fired. That is a no no! Unless you're set up as a phone or internet merchant you must have the card present to dispute a reversal.
