I have a 09 pilot(touring). once a year my gps burns out and I have to waist 2 days going to the stealership. one day for them to see it and 1 for them to install the new gps. anyone else have this problem or just me ??
will NEVER buy another built in gps or a grey interior (might as well be white) |

Never heard of a GPS failure in a 2nd gen, but the radio display in my '11 got kinda flakey and the whole radio had to be replaced.
How is your GPS failing? Same way each time? I wouldn't bother hating Honda, by the way, the GPS is made by Pioneer. Display is Pioneer or Panasonic, I forget.

replaced the original and now replacing that one...it burns out somehow and the screen says see dealer...Honda replaces the disc and the unit. if it burns out 2 more times it falls under the lemon law.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I believe if I am reading the NYS lemon law correctly, it only applies if the are unable to correct the problem after 4 attempts.
If they replace the GPS unit and it works, you may not be covered. If you are out of warranty soon ,you should protect yourself by contacting Honda and asking for some sort of warranty on either the whole car, or ask for a free extented warranty on the GPS for this recurring problem. It will be easier to negotiate now, instead of later if/when there is another problem. |
