Default So, anybody fly r/c airplanes?

My neighbor convinced me to 'try out' r/c airplanes.

I bought a trainer airplane 'ready to fly' setup from www.towerhobbies.com and some accessories on Sunday pm. Should get the stuff by next Monday.

Got a plane, .46 engine, Futaba knock-off radio, 2 quarts of fuel, trainer cord, 3 extra props, and trial-membership in the AMA ( not the medical association, the r/c flying club... ) all for $289 shipped to my door.

Cheap stuff, but I'm only sticking my toe in the water to see if I'll like this flying stuff.

Jestmaty,
May I suggest RCUniverse. Yahoo it or Google it... If you think this forum is good, which it is!!... You will enjoy RCU. I love RC airplanes but haven't had the time for it lately. Good luck.

I flew a Esky Honeybee FP for about two months, then started converting it to Lipo and doing other upgrades. Got pretty tired of the fixed pitch characteristics outside and have been wanting to move over to something else. Didn't know if I was more interested into the fixed wing nitro power or 4WD nitro powered vehicles. I have tones of parts that I need to sell as well.

Please post up your pics and any video as it would be of interest to me.

I've converted over to all electrics. The reduction in hassles and opening up of flying space overwhelms the performance aspects for me.
