Default december northwest pilot trip

took the long way to Sac from LR via denver and wyoming. on duelers H/L alenza(with chains in the storage bin just in case-never used it). they closed part of the I-80(chain law in effect...). never a category 3(chains all vehicles).

pic of a chevy before being passed. just arrived last night back to LR, after hitting park city(nice ski town!), disneyland-anaheim, las vegas for new years eve and back. pilot hit the 150,000 miles somewhere in LA and now past the 152K+ miles. no tranny glitch at all, mobil 1 5W/30 EP every 15K miles and almost stock in everything.

Wow, sblvro! Thanks for the pics and glad to hear that you had a safe trip despite some of the the road conditions you had to drive in. Glad to hear that your Pilot's been a great trouble free workhorse for you as well.

I would say the blowing snow condition was most of the trip through the mountains. It is a good thing I deviced the tow hitch stop light to work as a rear fog lamp since a truck was following me despite poor visibility conditions! Having been used to the Dueler A/T Revo's, I had doubts with the Dueler H/L Alenzas-not anymore!

This trip made me a believer of Honda workmanship. at 150K+ miles, the pilot performed flawlessly. using premium allowed me to stretch the cruising range as there were hardly any gasoline stations in this part of the country after midnight

Congratulations on your trip! Nice pics.
It is an easy ride to stay on somebody's tail in poor visibility. You, on the other hand need to worry about the road ahead and in addition to it, the following vehicle

I agree it helps with predicting curves, intersections etc, but will not penetrate fog or heavy snow. You still need to use your eyes
