Default Hotter than heck Christmas Day

Just thought I'd b*tch just a bit about today's weather.

It hit 77 degrees today in Houston and the humidity was about 90%. What you get in those conditions, especially after a week of slow, drenching rain, is a sticky, humid, gross Xmas day conditions.

I'm about to grab about 5 hours of sleep, then hit the road to Taos, NM... about 900 miles to the Northwest of here. Saturday's low is forecast to be below 0. I can't wait.

As I sit here on Christmas night, I'm sweating in my house, which is about 74degrees. Not using a/c nor heater.

I know those of you in the cold may not be able to comprehend, but I'm sick of being hot in December. Maybe I'll be able to wear a short sleeve shirt and shorts with flip-flop shoes on New Years Eve.

Looking forward to being hit with a snowball by my 8 yr old tomorrow...... Jestmaty out!

I am just glad I did not spend this Christmas in Iraq like I did last year, but then again, it was a little cooler than 74 degrees when I was there, so I guess that I was "lucky"......

Oh crap!!!!! It's cold in Taos!

Something like 20 degrees, snowing, and I'm really really tired.

The Pilot performed flawlessly, even on the General Grabber UHP's.. primarily a wet/dry/performance tire.

We hit some brutal snow coming over the mountain from the East. As we got higher elevation, the snow got worse.

But, I would estimate that I drove 40 to 50 miles through a mountain pass in relatively deep snow and never lost my confidence. Tirerack didn't even rate the tires for snow/ice, but with full 10/32" tread, they bit right through the snow and got my to my hotel. Funny how the sidewall of the tire says M & S?

Drinking a Shiner Bock then going to bed

Anybody know Shiner Bock beer? It is my favorite.

Shiner Bock is a good 'ol Texas beer brewed by a great family of German-Czech brewers. Just bought a 6 'er of their Cheer brew to try. Trying to find the 100yr aniversary brew. Shiner varieties just recently made it into the Iliinois/Indianna market.

While in Taos, try Tim's Black Dog up in TSV.

I almost bought a six pack of that Cheer brew last week in Austin, Tx.

Even though I get Bock primarily ( cause my wife likes it too, and what a better drinkin' buddy than your wife? ) but my most favorite is their Hefeweizen.

It's a wheat brewed beer made with lemon peels and orange rinds. Sounds gross, but it is most excellent. The fun part is pouring out the first half of the bottle, then swirling the remaining half vigorously to mix the yeast. Then pour the remaining 'yeast' beer in with the rest and enjoy!
