Who would have thought the M3 would get 19mpg vs the Prius's 17mpg on the same test loop?

I really stuggle to watch my driving style in my Pilot for the roughly 300 miles between fillups.

Staying on the sane side of 'stupid driving', I can sometimes eek out 17mpg city.

I hope Dish Network has this tonight.... I'm settin' the DVR if so

I am big fan of Top Gear, but noticed that it appears to be overly edited in the US (for commercials) than its usual format on BBC here in Europe. I have seen episodes over here and then a re-air in the US and prefer the European version, FWIW, we are episode 5 presently.....

Still a great show!

The M3 was drafting the Prius the whole time!

Wonder what the BMW would do if the Prius was driven with max fuel economy in mind.

After these contradictory reviews of the GTR, he's lost all credibility with me:

Probably not care too much....different class of cars, but it does go to show that driving style does have a lot to do with fuel economy! This would be true of any vehicle, really. I guess you could argue that an M3 has has about a 300hp advantage over the Prius, but "only" gets a little less than half the average MPG of a Prius?

Back on topic....While I cannot vouch for the legality of this...there are sources on the internet to download the European version of Top Gear shortly after it is aired on Sundays over here. With older episodes as well.

I have only seen the "US edit" as I will call it, a few times when back in the US and it seems to be a shortened version of the same episodes that I have seen over here, FWIW.
