Stranger left her purse in Wal Mart shopping cart

I found a women's wallet/purse in a Wal Mart shopping cart today.

I called her home # with her cell phone that was in her purse.

I noticed $10 and a Visa card and a Wal Mart receipt that showed she made her purchase about 10 minutes before I arrived.

Drove about 8 miles away from my home to bring her wallet/purse to her when she got home and listened to the answering machine. She was really upset.

Felt good about it..... There ARE a few good people left in the world, most of them HPORG members

Oh yea... I did use her card to buy my stuff at walmart, about $14 worth of junk...

Just kidding about the last part.

I did my part last month as well.....Last month, I walked out of my office and around the corner where our office condo community mailboxes are and found an iPod Nano with a neopreme rubber case around it. I took it back to my office, turned it on and found nothing but material for the bar exam on it. We have several attorneys in our complex, so I called them to let them know about the lost iPod, and sure enough, the following morning a gal studying for the bar had lost it. Had she not found it, that Nano was going to cost her $700....the value of the iPod plus the licensing fee for the bar exam material on it (she had rented it for her study). Like, money, it would have been so easy to keep, but I couldn't have kept it, without at least trying to find the owner. I sure believe what goes around, comes around.

Great story. It feels good to know they're still honest people in the world who so the right thing. Your reward was the warm and fuzzy feeling you got when you saw the smile an relief on her face! Good deeds don't go unrewarded.

I found a women's cc in lowes parking lot a few weeks ago.

Tracked her down in the local white pages and got it back to her.

I think it's a sad reflection of society that we have to call attention to, compliment, or praise actions or behavior that should (IMO) be de rigueur...

PS I found a kid at the mall the other day. Was going to keep him since I don't have any boys but I figured someone probably had a good amount of time/energy/money already invested in him and it wouldn't have been fair... Plus, I don't think he was potty trained yet...

She wasn't that cute......and was old enough that this was definitely the start of a new and different career path. And as a follow-up to that, we ended up writing a couple of probate bonds for one of the law firm partners who specializes in seniors and estate planning.

You still looking for a boy? I've got a deal for you...17 years old AND potty trained, plus you don't have to spend a lot of time teaching him anything because he already knows everything!

A couple of years ago, my wife left her wallet with $600+ cash in it as well as credit cards, etc in a shopping cart at a Walmart and didn't realize it was missing until she got back home about 45 minutes later. She called the store's customer service department, which said someone had indeed turned it in but they couldn't acknowledge if anything was left inside. Supposedly some kind of policy about not opening or revealing the contents without the owner being present??? Sounded weird so of course I was sure that it would be empty when my wife went back for it, but my wife quite naively refuses to believe bad things about people when she can still hope for the best. (Tool of her psychotherapy trade.) Sure enough, all the cash and credit cards were still there.

Earlier this Summer, I was leaving the grocery store and looked down before the exit doors and I found a Woman's wedding ring with a very large rock. I ended up giving it to customer service.
What the heck was I going to do with it, I already have a wife. I don't need another nagging wench.

I've never heard of someone who brings $600+ in cash to walmart!
