Why do you miss this board? Hope not because you bought the BMW. Shucks, there are tons of people around here without Pilots anymore.I have been missing you and your inputs.

Did you recover from the hurricane? Get those live fish swimming in your house out (know you did), get the roof repaired? Seems like last I heard there were problems getting contractors.

Hey, we need N Jay. Without him everybody would be on me about my spelling. We don't want to bring up how I kept spelling "as" with 3 letters!

Good to hear from you.

I only like to contribute to non-car related issues of course and I haven't seen anything exciting in awhile. I might have to start stirring the pot.

It has been almost 2 years since the hurricane and my roof is still leaking. We got scammed by a roofing company that basically disappeared and did a crap job. This goes along with my sister who was left w/ half of her roof completed (they only got as far as the tar/paper part and then had to shut down because they didn't pay their WC insurance) and about 1 million other people here. Just getting more estimates on repairs which are still outrageous.

They say this year is supposed to be bad...then again they said that last year so who knows.

How so? Although I have been spending some time recently on a couple BMW forums and they are a bit "different"......

Welcome back !!!

Which BMW boards are you visiting?

And, yes, I would agree that the BMW boards are not as civil as this one. Generally speaking, there tends to be a feeling of elitism as they frown on Honda/Toyota/Nissan nameplates. But, hey, that's really their problem.

bimmerfest is the best, from the standpoint of a blend of board activity and civility.

Bimmerfest is where I go but have not discussed previous auto ownership. The OT board seems to have folks on there who have been there for 20 years w/ 5,000 posts.

I like the porcupine joke.

We test drove an e93, this weekend. It was the 328 convertible. It was very nice.

It was actually the new hard top convertible. Very sweet looking. In fact, the color was a light gold/beige color, which doesn't show up on the bmwusa.com web site, when you "build your own" version of the car.

Expensive though. $49k MSRP for the one we test drove and, as I understand it, the only way to get this brand new model below MSRP, right now, is to do a European delivery.
