Default SEVERELY abusing a Honda motor

This link takes you to a video of some guys blowing bananas out of the open exhaust ports of a 95 civic.

They also pour a ton of water into the oil fill hole and start revving the motor until it bounces off the rev limiter!

Until they BLOW it up!!!!!!

I guess they had no more use for the engine in the car.

I suppose these guys didn't have a lot to do. For all the abuse the motor took, it lasted a long time. I was impressed. I would have laughed if it exploded and the car caught fire and the driver had to scramble to safety...that would be a sight.

maybe they were planning to do a swap and just wanted to destroy the old motor... it did last a long time, surprisingly! they should have shot some more bananas.

Actually, a friend of mine actually did blow the engine on his TSX. He has a serious lead foot and I'm sure the car spent lots of time around the redline between shifts. I was bit suprised, but I guess everythig has its limit.

Speaking of durability, I was at Jiffy Lube the other day and the tech was commenting he see's Honda's and Acura's with 500,000 and 600,000 kms coming in quite often. I doubt he see's many Cavaliers with even 300,000 kms.

My 81 diesel wagon has 381K miles on it. I hope to get that much out of the Pilot. If I could get a diesel Pilot I bet I could easily get 500K out of it. That is like a LIFETIME car.
