I am planing to visit Lake George this summer I need help on accommodations for families.

Very pretty area. We spend a lot of time in the Adirondacks, with occasional trips to Lake George.

I will like to rent a house if possible but my wife want a lodge type setting this time.Thanks fellow "pilotiers" for the information you are posting, we are researching them.

Years ago BC (before children), the wife and I spent the first ten years of our marriage spending two weeks of our vacation per year camping on the islands.

Our jump off point was at Bolton Landing. We would rent a boat (in advance) and motor out to Glen Island (ranger station) and reserve a camping site.

The best times were when we were able to get a single site island. It was great fun! Of coarse if you want to do the touristy thing Lake George Village was just a short ride back to the car and less than 10 mi. down the road.........

I plan to drive there and from Maryland and I am banking on a scenic route.
