Big week for EDMONTON in the SPORTS WORLD!

First the Eskimos avenge last years loss to win the GREY CUP last Sunday.....Edmonton ESKIMOS>>>>Montreal ALOUETTES.....then this Saturday GRETZKY & the "boys on the bus" will take on LAFLEUR & the Canadiens "legends" followed by a regular season game between the OILERS & CANADIENS in an outdoor rink @ Commonwealth Stadium in front of 60k plus........ WOW!!!

As far as the Maple Laughs...er..Leafs, they lost another one last night, this time to the Oilers, what is that now...5 in row without a win?

One more sleep until the big game, everyone is hyped in old E town, game is on CBC, coverage starts I believe @ 2PM, should be a an interesting event to watch live but cant get any tickets so I'll be glued to the tube for 6 hrs.......GO OILERS!

The decent ticks (red & orange seats) were snapped up really quickly and it was pretty darn expensive anyway. I know it's a special game and all, however, having been to a few Eskies games, I just didn't think it'd be worthwhile to be watching it from the upper section off to the sides. You're just too far away from the action in that stadium. Even if you're in the upper section at an Oilers game, there's sense of being part of the action at least.

I think I'll have more fun at my buddy's place in the comforts of a warm livingroom and a cold one in my hand and some pizza in the other. I think it's gonna loads of fun

Oh, and yeah!!! Go Oilers, Always!! Gosh, how I miss the glory days.

Okay Borg and RipRock,
I will let you have this weekend in peace. I do hate the Habs so Go Edmonton Go (I can't believe I said that).

There was rumor that the Great One wasn't going to be there, but I saw him at the practice. So that will be good.

I can't believe Edmonton won the game yesterday, you have to admit, our own forwards saved you this game. But so far this season, it has been sad, very sad.

I need to surf this board to stay away from watching the Leafs and Raptors...... Go Jays Go, I am getting ready for spring

Pure insanity as 60k fans braved -25 to watch GRETZ & the boys blank LAFLEUR & CAnadiens oldtimers 2- zip. FUHR & RANFORD looked good enough to tend the nets for some NHL teams as they shut out Montreal. The offensively gifted Oilers got their scoring from a cheker & a fighter.....go figure.

The only blemish to this wonderful sporting event was the OILERS losing to the CANADIENS in the league game.....

I only watched the highlights from the old timers, and some of the evening game.
I can't believe how cold it was, and it looked it. Reminds me of when we used to play here, some of our games and practices were outside, but I am sure not as cold as the game yesterday.

I have to hand it to the fans though, to hang in like that.

Sorry about the Oiler's loss. It looked like they would take it, after some of the stupid penalties the Habs took.

On a brighter note, the Leafs won. I fell asleep half way and missed it.
