(1) Gas prices don't look like they will come back down anytime soon.

(2) For the $30k invoice price of an EX-L... there are a lot of other really interesting options out there. For example, you can buy a low mileage 2-3 year old Mercedes or BMW wagon for under $30k. There are also some great choices from Acura, Honda, Toyota, Lexus for sedans that will drive like a dream.

Heck... I could even buy a commuter car and a pretty nice truck.

Dunno.
But the reason you could buy a low mileage Merc or BMW is because the previous owners got sick of dealing with the problems and traded it......... .
