Lightbulb Help Get the 2004 Pilot Owner's Manual Online

In a different thread here, kemosabe has generously offered to scan in and post a 2004 Pilot Owner's Manual so that we may enjoy the benefits of having it online at this site as a reference.

Since the manual costs $40 (and will likely be bent up during scanning) I think that it is appropriate for 2004 Pilot owners to pay for one. (kemosabe only has a 2003 manual.) If several members will share the cost, it won't be a burden to anyone.

I'm hereby pledging $10. Now if 3 more members will contribute $10, or 6 more will contribute $5, we'll have what we need. The manual will be a trememdous resource to all 2004 Pilot owners.

Since kemosabe will have enough to do with ordering and scanning the manual, I propose the following, if you would like to contribute:

----------------------------------------

1. I will collect your individual checks and send kemosabe a lump sum. PM me and I will tell you how to make out your check (no cash please) and where to mail it. If you want me to send you an e-mail response instead of a return PM, be sure to give me your e-mail address. In this thread you may also post your commitment to contribute so that other members can see the interest level.

2. I won't cash any checks until there is enough to purchase the manual. If we don't get enough funds within about 3 weeks (which is unlikely) I will return your check or shred it (your preference).

3. If response is even greater than the $30 still needed, for an additional $10 we can also get the 2004 Pilot Quick Start Guide, which you probably know is an abbreviated color owner's manual with some nifty drawings.

4. I have rounded the numbers down, plus there might be some sales tax involved, but I am not going to split hairs. I'll either accept an additional $5 contribution or make up the difference myself.

Thanks in advance to anyone who participates!

Since Kemo is putting forth the majority of the effort in the actual scanning and posting process - it might be appropriate to collect enough to compensate him for his time too!

Isn't that one of the sacrifices he's supposed to make in exchange for the glory of being a moderator?

Nah... no compensation is necessary -- I don't mind doing the scanning and posting (and I've already received a PM from honda-pilot.org member bkwon saying that if I scan it, he will host it with hyperlinks like he did with the 2003 manual). My only suggestion is to give this thread a bump every few days...

I bet if we thought REAL hard we could come up with a little something that you would enjoy.............

Kemo - please close your eyes, cover your ears and hum REAL loud.

Okay - while he is busy, if anyone wants to chip in on a little gift - please PM me for details. Seems to me the least we can do for Kemo's efforts.

I am a newbie here at this site and will see if I can help out, either on the price of the manual or possibly getting our dealership to offer one up for the members here.

I would like to become involved in the community here and hope that I can learn as much from this site as I have from the Element Owners Club. I order all our Honda's and the information I have gained at EOC, has been invaluable, so if you have any questions/comments, please share them.

Default New smilies?

Where did you get those smilies?
I looked in the 'Smilies' section in the post text section, and those weren't there!

Thanks,
EDR

kemosabe and a few other members host their own smilies that they can use somehow.
