Hi there, everyone -
I finally managed to pick up my beautiful 04 MBP Pilot EX-L/RES this past Tuesday. I could have had the car at invoice, but the dealer had to buy exactly what I wanted from another dealer out of state and have it shipped up here or I would have had to wait about 2 1/2 months before his next MBP EX-L/RES came in. So I paid the extra shipping and dealer grease and got exactly what I wanted within a month of ordering it. I know it came from the out of state dealer because it's clearly stated on the window sticker. Before anyone thinks my negotiating skills are frightening, let me share with you how I managed to get this car at dealer cost - I bartered for it. And I don't get why this doesn't happen more often, either - almost everyone has something useful, whether it's a skill or a contact, that can be thrown into the mix. In my case, I can usually get tickets to popular shows and sports events (not a broker, just through contacts I have). If I were a doctor, I'd waive office visit fees, or I'd do tax returns for free if I was an accountant, or I'd plow driveways if I had a plow. At the very worst, the dealer will say he's not interested, and you're no worse off than when you started, right? Anyway, it helped me, so I thought I'd share. As anyone who's trying to snag one of these in the NY area knows, nobody's dealing much under MSRP, so anything off is a good thing. I'd like to thank the members of honda-pilot.org for being so helpful and informative - I've thoroughly enjoyed lurking and reading all of your advice, and I hope to be a useful addition to your group! Pictures attached, hopefully, to spare me the anguish of being prompted to post them

Glad to see someone setting a great example for other new owners by posting pics and avoiding the harassment commensurate with not posting pictures!

The one I've seen in person wasn't quite so bright - I wonder if it's just because of the light reflecting off the snow...

Congratulations.
That is a beautiful colour. Now all the money you saved will buy you all sorts of add ons, and there will be no shortage of advice here. Great negotiating ideas.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Regarding Bowl tix, it's Houston, and I sadly have no juice down there - if the league is ever insane enough to bring the big game to the tri-state region, I might be able to help, though
As for the color of the MBP, I deliberately posted the brightest pic because I know that many people haven't yet seen the color first-hand, and the brochure is spectacularly unhelpful in determining precisely how intense the color is. I'm attaching two other photos that are more subdued - the color is quite dark, but it really explodes with a deep blue when the bright sunlight hits it. Yeah, I'm in love. So sue me
